I agree with you. Nigerians need to march. Peaceful marches is something that is rare in Nigeria.

Mostly, Nigerians just accept the status quo. Meanwhile, politician after politician makes all kinds of promises during election campaigns, but never deliver on those promises.

The only time protests ever occur, is when Northerners riot. Unfortunately, that does not make any contribution toward reforming the nation. Instead, it contributes toward it's continued degradation.

If a million Nigerians can get out there and march, demanding stable power supply in Nigeria, that might catch the attention of president Jonathan as to what the people really want.

I think Jonathan Goodluck's administration has demonstrated seriousness toward building power generation stations.

Country---------Population-----------Electricity
Nigeria----------150 million-----------4,000 megawatts
South Africa----47 million------------40,000 megawatts
Brazil------------200 million-----------100,000 megawatts

So, Nigeria being a nation of more than 150 million people, generates roughly 4,000 megawatts of electricity.

South Africa generates 40,000 megawatts for its 47million inhabitants.

Brazil’s 200 million people enjoy a whopping 100,000 megawatts of power generation.

Wow! Nigeria has a huge catching to do.

We are tired of our leader's so called "seriousness". All we want is execution and deliveries on contracts awarded to resolve this problem. That is the measure,...action and not words!

That said, we Nigerians need to stand up and confront our leaders to peacefully march and express our anguish and discontent against our leaders. This is the premise of the Let there be light in Nigeria project- The Nigerian Million March (october 24th 2011)

The so called leaders are raping our nation. We need to wake up and start holding somebody responsible instead of being collectively docile and anemic.
