Congrats! Lagos in top 10 places

Tongue in cheek, Lagos is #1. Not! Three cheers for Nigeria.

Lagos is rated #1 among Top 10 World's Worst Places to Work.

It takes a lot to be number #1 in anything. Lagos pulled this one off in shining colors.

There are a few surprises on this list besides Lagos. For example, I never expected to see Saudi Arabia on the list, given their massive oil reserves, and the huge amount of money they earn from it on a daily basis.

Also, India occupies a whopping three positions on a top 10 list. Now, although Lagos is #1, India clearly kicks Lagos' butt.

1. Lagos, Nigeria

2. Jakarta, Indonesia

3. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

4. Almaty, Kazakhstan

5. Mumbai, India

6. New Delhi, India

7. Nairobi, Kenya

8. Bogota, Colombia

9. Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

10. Chennai, India

This is really worth celebrating, Number 1 position in a topic of underdevelopment? worth celebrating ? there is nothing there to celebrate apart from the position 'No 1'

It's a good thing that the nation's capital city was moved. Lagos is too congested, with major mobility issues.

The picture shows all kinds of skyscrapers, tons of people and automobiles. Yet, look at how narrow the road is. People parking right in the middle of the road. Major eyesore.

Lagos has been this way for decades. So, I don't see a light at the end of the Lagos tunnel.

There is nothing unique about Lagos though in this regard. Most Nigerian cities are pretty much the same way.

Abuja is better planned, but the traffic problems is horrendous too. Add to that, the fact that real estate has gone through the roof due to the recent 900% city tax hike, it's now a city for only the rich only.

I wonder what Yar'Adua is doing out there. Shameful indeed.
