What Obama is doing to the poor Africans

Did you rejoice when Barack Obama worn the US presidency? Well, let's look at what he's doing to the poor.

Most of America's electricity is generated through burning coal. Basically, coal is burned to heat water. The generated steam is then used to turn giant power generating machines. This is similar to how hydro-electric machines work.

Obama and his Democrat party have now said that coal burning puts out pollution into the air, and that the pollution is causing global warming.

Obama's solution is to tax the coal companies more, depending on how much coal they burn, in a program they call cap-and-trade.

Basically, the government would give you a quota on how much pollution you can put into the air. Anything above that allotted amount, would be taxed by Obama.

By the way, Obama proposed the same to China, and India, and they refused to go along with him, because these countries don't want to raise taxes on their population.

What does a tax on an American coal company really mean?

First, can you think of anything you do in your life that does not require energy? I can't. Everything requires energy.

Therefore, when Obama raises taxes on coal companies, what he's really doing is raising taxes on every American.

Here is how it's going to work.

1. Obama raises taxes on coal companies.

2. The coal companies turn around and raise the cost of selling energy to regional electric companies.

3. The electric companies in turn pass the extra cost to American businesses and households.

4. When businesses pay more for energy, whatever the businesses are selling automatically go up in price.

Finally, everything an American buys becomes more expensive.

Cars become more expensive to buy. Food, electronics, transportation, road building, bank services, medicine, etc. In other words, everything becomes more expensive for Americans.

All right, so we know that Americans are going to end up paying more for everything. But how does that affect you as a Nigerian? After all, this is only going to happen in America, and that is their problem. Right?

Well, not quite. Let's look at it.

First of all, this global warming hysteria is not limited to America. Europe is into it too big time. That means the prices of everything is going to sky-rocket not only in America, but in Europe as well.

As you know, most of what Nigeria consumes come from America and Europe. That means cars, electronics, farming equipment, hospital supplies, etc are going to cost way more. In a nutshell, Obama has managed to raise the price of everything you buy.

Another way it affects you, is through fewer charitable donations. Most of the financial donations and food aid come from America and Europe. Once the cost of living goes up around the world, Americans and Europeans won't have anything left to send to Africa in aid.

Let's say a Nigerian living in America, was able to send home $5,000/year in the past. Once Obama's cap-and-trade program is implemented, such a Nigeria would be paying higher taxes for everything, and hence, would have fewer disposable income to send home. Ultimately, hunger would increase in the world, thanks to Obama.

Here is the bottom line, if Obama succeeds in implementing his cap-and-trade program, life is going to be more difficult for you.

Thank you for this excellent post. What you are saying is 100% percent correct. Things are going to cost more under president Obama. It's even worse than you know. He has proposed to impose Value Added Tax (VAT) on Americans. VAT is already being charged in the UK, and of course, things are way more expensive in the UK than they are in the USA.

To put this in perspective, here is a video of Obama saying the cost of electricity is going sky rocket under him.
