Is anything wrong with the current Nigerian system of education?

All that we need is adequate funding in Nigerian universities.

No matter what system of education Nigeria adopts, if the schools are poorly funded, it's not going to make any difference.

Why can't people see a problem and be able to pinpoint the root cause?

I was educated in Russia and speak Russian. So, I'm an authority on this subject.

Unfortunately, I don't quite like the Russian system of education. Exams are oral. In other words, you sit in front of your teacher or a panel and talk about what you know. That system makes it easy for a teacher to vindicate any student he doesn't like.

On the other hand, if exams are written, then what is written cannot be altered. Making it possible for a different teacher to re-grade a paper should the student feel vindicated.

Nigeria's current educational system is perfect. Our schools and research institutions just need money and equipment that's all.

Aside from inadequate fundings, examination(WAEC, NECO, JAMB, etc) malpractice is also another problem.

Well, we keep hoping and praying for a better Nigeria. One day we will get there, it may not be this Generation, it may not even be the next, but one thing is certain, "Naija go betta"

Do you really see that day in Nigeria when Yorubas, Hausas, Igbos would own businesses jointly, inter-marry freely, live together in the same house, etc?

Do you see the day when Christians and Muslims in Nigeria turn a blind eye to religion and work together with each other in harmony?

Are Nigerians working together better today than they did two, three, four decades ago? The answer is no. Today there are incessant riots like the one recently in Jos. Therefore, what is the hope that Nigeria would be any better in the next one or two generations?

When I think of Nigeria, the phrase 'divided nation' comes to mind.

If Nigerians don't start working together, I think the nation is going to eventually end up splitting up into parts for it to survive. That is a grim prediction, but likely closer to the truth.
