(SomaliNet) Atiku Abubakar Nigeria’s vice-president has publicly proclaimed his plans to stand for Nigeria’s government position. He is expected to stand against Nigeria’s president, Olusengun Obasanjo.
Though Nigeria’s Obasanjo is still unclear about his plans to stand for Nigeria’s presidency, his supporters are pushing for an amendment in Nigeria’s constitution that legalizes him to rule Nigeria for yet another term.
It is desire to change Nigeria’s constitution in favour of Obasanjo that has caused rivalry between him and Abubakar. When he declared his position on Thursday, a spokesperson from Nigeria’s presidential office asked him to resign. However, he stood his ground and asked to resign for distorting Nigeria’s constitution.
Abubakar is not the first one to be attacked over opposing the idea of a third term in Nigeria. Many Nigerians have suffered the wrath of Nigeria’s police for this.
Abubakar' plans to improve the Nigerians’ living conditions by giving them more jobs. He will create between four and ten million new jobs for the Nigerians to achieve his planned reduction of 55% in Nigeria’s poverty levels.
