Nigerian Elections

Am I correct in that there have been some rather contentious races in the recent balloting in Nigeria?

Would anybody care to explain why that is the case?

Elections in Nigeria are a joke. An election in Nigeria is nothing more than a dog and pony show. Winners have been decided long before elections are even held.

When we talk about corruption in Nigeria, now you have an idea what we mean.

The one weakness of a Democratic system of government is that it has nothing in place against a corrupt majority. In other words, if criminals happen to predominate, they'd continue to rule forever.

I've never known a single election in Nigeria to be fair. Ballot-stuffing, lost ballot boxes, blatant prevention of voters from casting votes, prevention of voting booths from opening, prevention of opposing party reps from counting votes, etc, are all emblematic of Nigeria's elections.
