Democracy continues to fail in Nigeria. Time for a change?

Democracy has not worked for Nigeria. Do we need another form of government?

What other forms of government are there besides democracy?

Well, Communism, also known as socialism.

The word communism derives from community, i.e. people working collectively as a unit.

Under communism, there is limited ownership of property. Everything is controlled by the government. The government basically dictates what the citizens need, and that is all there is to it. Rights are limited. If you disagree with government policies, you keep it to yourself. Freedom of speech is non-existent. If you complain, you're dubbed an enemy of the state and hence, locked up for a very long time.

Their newspapers, radio and television broadcasts are nothing more than propaganda mediums for elevating communism.

So, with all the negative points above about communism, why would any country practice it?

Well, let's look at the good aspects of communism:

Homelessness: There are no homeless people under communism. Everybody has a place to stay for free.

Work: There is no unemployment. Everybody has a job.

Education is 100% free from kindergaten to post graduate level.

Healthcare is 100% free, no matter what surgery you need.

Food is cheap. No hunger and starvation.

Public transportation is highly developed. They always have tramvae (street electirc trains), buses, subway trains, intercity trains, airlines, etc. It's really cheap to ride on these.

Everybody is equal under communism. You all live the same way. There is no such thing as a poor man, or rich man.

All decision that the government makes is for the people. If you lose your job, you don't have to worry about how you're going to pay your bills.

Money has little value under communism, since everything is available at very low prices. Therefore, there is no incentive for any government official to want to steal money.

What are examples of countries that practice communism?
China,
Russia,
Cuba,
North Korea,
etc.

There are some democracies that also practice communism. Examples are: Canada, United Kingdom, Sweden, etc.

Considering the fact that democracy has failed woefully in Nigeria, is it time to give a different form of government a try?
