With the overwhelmingly fantastic music videos shot by naija aritses last year? Will the standard improve? And by how much this year? If OLOLUFE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vc8NooXcYaI) by Nomoreloss is anything to go by, it will be a great year. Also watch (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JB_KfVJ795Q). Responses and comments welcomed.

The quality of those videos are commendable. That is a great improvement over past materials put out by our video industry.

The reason that video quality is low in Nigeria is because studio-quality cameras are extremely expensive, way beyond what a Nigerian recording studio could afford.

In America, independent film makers rent such equipment, since even they cannot afford them.

As prices continue to fall, or as old equipment is surplused, they'd fall within the price range of a typical Nigerian market.

I also love the effects in those videos. Linux has brought very costly software to everybody for free.

Programs such as Kino, Cinelerra, etc are much like Adobe Premier, except that they don't cost anything. You can do transitions, mix audio, add titles and graphics, and even do chroma-keying and other fancy compositing, all at zero cost.
