If you look on the menu above, you'd see a link labelled TV. That is live Television that I've put up as a demo. You can select from roughly 70 channels to watch.

How wonderful would it be to be able to watch Nigerian TV live on the Internet! Nigerians abroad would be particularly thrilled at that possibility.

Nairaland.net looking for a television station in Nigeria interested in being the first to go live online.

You don't necessarily need a broadband Internet connection to do this. Although the faster the connection you have to the Internet, the higher the audio/video quality that you can broadcast.

The way it works is: you will stream your TV station to Nairaland server. Internet users can then view it live by connecting to Nairaland.

Essentially, you only need enough bandwidth for a single video stream, and we will handle the broadcasting to the world.

The same thing can be done for Nigerian Radio Stations.

Nigerian government should consider launching an online version of their TV/Radio broadcasts. You can view news broadcasts at http://www.nigeria.gov.ng/ntaarchives.aspx, but they're pre-recorded material. Not as exciting.

Radio/TV stations in Nigeria are invited to contact the Nairaland admin for more information.
