Nigeria music awards in UK - Nominees scramble for visa

Postby fw12 » Sun Jul 30, 2006 7:15 am

According to a recent information reaching The Tide entertainment desk, the 66 nominees for the Nigerian Music Awards holding in London August 12, 2006 are now engaged in intense scrambling and lobbying by home an foreign based artistes to be part of the event.

It was gathered that while few of the nominees are in possession of valid UK visas, several of the young artistes have not visited the UK before. As such, the artistes and their managers/representatives have been mounting great pressure on the organizers to facilitate visa approvals and ticketing arrangements.

Our sources say that all confirmed performers have valid documents, among them are Wired MC who clutches a British passport while Dare Sammie Okposo, D-Banj and others also have valid visas.

While most of the nominees are already spreading pop-ups, e-mails and text messages asking fans, friends and family to vote for them on NMA website, some are going extra mile lobbying the organisers for a performance or at least a presentation slot.
