England battles Nigeria for Anichebe

England have called up Everton rising star Victor Anichebe to their Under-19 squad to face Holland next month despite the fact that the striker has said he wishes to play for his native country.
The England match will be played at Walsall’s Bescot Stadium on 5 September.
Anichebe was born in Nigeria but moved to Merseyside with his family when he was just three years old and is now eligible to play for both countries.
He stated on evertonfc.com earlier this month that his preferred choice for international football would be the country of his birth.
However, England Under-19 boss Brian Eastick has underlined his faith in the talented young striker by picking him in his squad for the forthcoming game against Holland.
